DR. JALTON TAGUIBAO
Associate Professor, Department of Political Science University of the Philippines – Diliman


Dr. Jalton Taguibao is Associate Professor of Political Science and Public Management at the Department of Political Science, University of the Philippines-Dlilman. From 2019 to 2022, he served as a resource person and moderator of the Thursday Talks Lecture Series and handled various learning modules on public policy and management of the Emerging Leader and Middle Manager Tracks of the Capability Building on Innovative Leadership for Legislative Staff (CBILLS) Program.

Dr. Taguibao is currently the Program Convenor of the Data Science for Public Policy Program (DSPP) of the University of the Philippines-System Center for Integrative and Development Studies (UP CIDS). He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Masters in Public Management from the University of the Philippines. He received his Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science from the University of the Philippines-Diliman. Dr.Taguibao did his postgraduate studies on research methodology and Quantitative Text Analysis from Humboldt University of Berlin in Germany, and Universidade de São Paulo in Brazil, respectively. He specializes in public policy, policy research, and research methodology.

Apart from his academic engagements, he has been actively involved in policy research and consultancy for government agencies and civil society organizations since 1999. While providing policy advice as a consultant to national government agencies, he is also an occasional resource person and lecturer in various course offerings of the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP).
